This long, oversized crochet cardigan feels like a warm hug on a chilly day! The Mauve-A-Lous Duster Cardigan pattern is written in standard American terms and includes sizes S–5X. A detailed schematic is provided, along with measuring instructions for sleeve length, allowing you to customize your cardigan to fit just right. The duster length is approximately 36–38″, with guidance on how to adjust the length to your preference.

The textured crochet stitch is an easy 2-row repeat worked in basic crochet stitches that works up quickly!  It’s a simple pattern to crochet in only one piece. I enjoy working my garments in this manner so that the seaming is limited to the sides and sleeves.

The Yarn

I crochet the Mauve-A-Lous Duster Cardigan in Mary Maxim Mellowspun DK (CDN) 70% Acrylic, 30% Nylon (174 yds/160m/50g/1.75oz) Shown in Dark Mauve. You can no longer get this colour, but they have other beautiful options available. Mellowspun is on the light side of a DK and is very similar to some Sport weight yarns. Many DK-weight yarns you will find to be a little thicker. Compare the yards per gram to find a suitable alternative.
