This long oversized crochet cardigan feels like a warm hug on a chilly day! Our easy Mauve-A-Lous Duster Cardigan crochet pattern is written in standard American terms. In the video tutorial, I used the Radiant Crochet Hook Set from WeCrochet. You can purchase them HERE
The textured crochet stitch is an easy 2-row repeat worked in basic crochet stitches that works up quickly! It’s a simple pattern to crochet in only one piece. I enjoy working my garments in this manner so that the seaming is limited to the sides and sleeves.
The Yarn
I crochet the Mauve-A-Lous Duster Cardigan in Mary Maxim Ultra Mellowspun DK– 70% Acrylic, 30% Nylon (174 yds/160m/50g/1.75oz) Shown in Dark Mauve. You can no longer get this colour but they have other beautiful options available. Mellowspun is on the light side of a DK and is very similar to some Sport weight yarns. Many DK weight yarns you will find to be a little thicker. Compare the yards per gram to find a suitable alternative.
If you love this mauve I suggest this Alternative from Mary maxim

Measuring Instructions
Medium size is modelled on a 5’5″ model with a 36″ Bust. The Cardigan is 38″ long, falling just below the knee. All sizes are 38″ except the size small size is 36″. The Mauve-A-Lous Duster Cardigan can be modified for 30″ (mid-thigh) length or customized length. The Sleeve is 17″ in length, including the cuff. To determine if the sleeve is the correct length, measure the centre back to desired sleeve length (see diagram). If a shorter sleeve is desired, shorten the cuff length or shorten the sleeve length (this will affect the finished width of the sleeve). The cuff is suggested so that the sleeve width is not affected. The sleeve is oversized so reducing the width by a couple of stitches is acceptable. Add additional length to the sleeve if needed.
