Michelle is the owner and designer behind MJ’s Off the Hook Designs, a creative haven for yarn lovers and a popular resource for accessory, garment and home decor crochet patterns. She’s best known for her fun, whimsical blanket patterns, many of which have gone viral. Michelle is passionate about teaching others to crochet through her YouTube channel and includes video tutorials with her designs.
Michelle resides on a farm in Ontario, Canada, with her husband and four children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends camping and hiking, but most evenings involve watching Netflix and crocheting.

Free patterns are supported by ads on the blog and are not downloadable. AD-FREE Downloadable PDF’s are available for purchase in our pattern shops.
Free patterns are only available if you subscribe to MJ’s Off The Hook Designs through the Grow App. To view Exclusive Content on the Blog, you will sign up through Grow. You can log in or sign up to grow by scrolling down the blog post until you see the pattern blocked out. Click the sign up for free teal button. A box will pop up so that you can add your email and pick a password. If you’ve forgotten your password, click on the highlighted Forgot Password link. To access your account, click on the dotted lines below the teal heart on the right-hand side of the blog post. Clicking on the heart will bookmark the post for easy reference.

For Download issues, be aware that you can’t download from the Etsy App. Log in to your account from your browser to access your download. For more information, see this article from Etsy HERE.
*All patterns will be received via email; we do not mail patterns. Patterns purchased through Ravelry are sent to the email given or linked to the PayPal email. Check your junk, spam and spouse folders. Downloads are sent out automatically when funds have cleared. If you use an Echeck, expect to wait 5-7 business days. Other payments generally are instant (occasionally 2-3 hours).
Due to the high volume of messages MJ’s receives, for pattern support please head over to our Facebook Community Group. The group is filled with experienced crocheters that have made many MJ’s patterns. Post your question in the group for support. You must answer the membership questions and agree to the group rules to be accepted.
Unless you can modify a pattern yourself use the suggested yarn weight. Changing the yarn weight will affect the pattern gauge and change the size of the item you are making. For yarn substitutes go to https://yarnsub.com/
MJ’s does not take custom orders or sell finished products.
No, you can no longer access patterns purchased on the old site. Contact MJ’s with your receipt of purchase and we can email you a copy of the pattern to store on your own device. This includes patterns included with videos and kits.
Yes! You are allowed to sell your finished work from my patterns! I just ask that you reference me as the designer.
