Michelle Moore is a busy mom of four, loving wife to an Ontario dairy farmer, and the driven creative behind MJ’s Off The Hook Designs.
Like many, Michelle was taught to knit at a young age by her Nan, and she can still remember the small scarves she made for her Cabbage Patch dolls. It wasn’t until years later when she had two girls of her own that she picked up knitting again, and although the extent of her skills were no more than the scarves of her childhood, the desire to build on and expand those skills was strong.
In Fall 2012 her daughter joined a knitting and crocheting club at school, and Michelle’s interest was sparked. She picked up a how-to CD, some yarn and a couple of hooks, and her love affair with crochet began.
Although she is relatively new to the world of crochet design, Michelle is already making waves with her work. Several of her whimsical blanket designs, became an overnight Internet sensation and are currently selling in over 76 countries.
More recently, Michelle developed a love and connection for luxury fibres, and sought out a way to share that with others. In March 2017 Sentry Box was born, launched with the goal of offering yarn-lovers a crochet pattern haven of fashionable garments best complimented by those luxury fibres; a way for makers to take a moment and splurge on themselves when they’re so used to creating for others.
Michelle strives to bring inspiration to the crocheting community through her creative pieces, driving the idea that crochet can be trendy, fun and modern.
