Yarn Inspiration

The Easter Bunny Baskets are designed in Bernat Home Dec for a great sturdy basket. I have put together some alternative yarn choices for you if you are looking for substitutes. Mary Maxim Titan Bulky is an excellent acrylic choice for this project. Brava Bulky and Bernat Softee Chunky are other great acrylic options that would work for this pattern. Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick and Hue & Me are great wool blend options for a modern and rustic look. Slightly changing the weight of yarn from a #5 bulky to a #6 super bulky will make your baskets a little bigger. You may also want to go up a hook size using super bulky yarn.

Cesc – Centre Extended Single Crochet (Waistcoat Stitch) Formed the same way as a standard extended single crochet. Instead of working the usual way, locate the inverted V-shape on the post of the stitch 1 row below. Insert your hook in the centre of that V.  Create loose stitches with a large hook to make it easier to insert the hook into the V.
