Crocheting my own clothes is amazing. I was inspired to make this tank top from one of my favourite knit tops. I just needed it too have a bit more coverage. Being able to customize my own clothes to the perfect fit is where its at!

Person with long wavy hair wearing a sleeveless knit top and jeans, standing indoors with one hand on hip, smiling at the camera, as if ready to Crochet the Ruby-V Tank.

I decided to keep this piece extra simple by making the front and back panels the same. The V neck back is perfect for hot days. But if you want more coverage just don’t add the V to the back panel. Only work the armhole decreases.

With her long hair cascading down her back, she gazes out the window in a sleeveless knitted top. Near her, a cat lounges on a chair amidst lush greenery—a scene reminiscent of the relaxed elegance of the Crochet the Ruby-V Tank pattern.

Best Yarn For A Summer Top

The best yarn for a summer tank top is a lightweight cotton yarn like Bernat Softee Cotton or Bernat Softee Baby Cotton. For those who prefer acrylic, I recommend Mary Maxim Sunrise. It’s a very light, amazingly soft acrylic yarn.
