The seaside cuddles baby blanket is worked in the moss stitch. The moss stitch is quick and easy using only single crochet (sc) stitches and chains. It’s made in Bernat Blanket yarn for a cuddly and squishy baby blanket.
The blues used are soft and fresh with a nautical feel. Perfect for a modern beach themed nursery.

8 sts and 7 rows equal to 4″with 10mm crochet hook in moss stitch pattern

Pattern – Seaside Cuddles Baby Blanket
Instructions:
Get the printable PDF HERE
When changing colors, work last yarn over of last stitch with next color. Don’t cut colors carry along the edge.
Pattern is worked in even numbers if you’re altering the size of blanket.
Blanket
Row 1: With MC, ch 65, work 1 sc in the 2nd ch from hook, work 1 sc in each ch across, turn—64 sts.
Moss stitch begins
Row 2: Ch 1 (not included as a st here and throughout), work 1 sc in first st, *ch 1, sk st, work 1 sc in next st; rep from * across, work 1 sc in last st, turn—64 sts.
Row 3: Ch 1, work 1 sc in first st, *ch 1, sk st, work 1 sc in ch-1 sp; rep from * across, work 1 sc in last st, turn—64 sts. Last st change to A, drop MC don’t cut.
Row 4: Rep Row 3. Last st change to B, drop A don’t cut.
Row 5: Rep Row 3. Last st change to MC (pick up dropped yarn Row 3), drop B don’t cut.
Rows 6-68: Rep Row 3 color rep as follows; 3 Rows MC, 1 Row A and 1 Row B ending with 3 Rows MC—64 sts.
Final Row/Finishing Border:
With MC ch 1, work 1 sc in each st and ch-1 sp across 64 sts, turn down side of blanket, work 1 sc evenly across side (1 sc st per row) 69 sts, work 1 sc evenly across bottom edge 64 sts, work 1 sc evenly across side edge of blanket 69 sts, sl st in first sc of Final Row to join—266 sts.
Border Round 2: Ch 1 (counts as 1 st), work 2 sc in first st, *work 1 sc in each st across to corner, at corner work 3 sc in each of next 2 sts; rep from * 2 more times, work 1 sc in each st across, last st add 3 sc, sl st in first sc to join—282 sts.
Round 3: Ch 1, work 1 sc in each st around, sl st in first sc to join—282 sts. Fasten off and weave in ends.
