Fuzzy Peach Cardigan

The Fuzzy Peach Cardigan is a super fun, beginner-friendly crochet pattern. This cozy cardigan combines a strand of hand-painted mohair with a solid colour of worsted-weight yarn to achieve that delightful “fuzzy” effect. I think it perfectly captures the look of Fuzzy Peach candy, which is how it got its name! Unfortunately, the colour of mohair I initially used for this pattern has been discontinued.

Fortunately, WeCrochet has released new colours, so I decided to remake this cardigan in a stunning rust colour that’s perfect for fall.

Why Crochet a Cardigan

A cardigan is probably one of the most versatile pieces of clothing you could own. Dress up with your cardigan or dress them down; it’s totally up to you!

Crocheting a cardigan is a great way to customize your own style and create a one-of-a-kind piece of clothing. The Fuzzy peach cardigan is an easy and practical design. When I crochet clothes, I like them to be things I actually love and will wear. For me, the Fuzzy Peach Cardigan checks both those boxes.

This easy Free Crochet Cardigan pattern is crocheted in easy half double crochet stitches. If you are new to crocheting garments, I suggest you try following along with the step-by-step video tutorial I have provided for you. This will give more insight and direction to help you along.

Crocheting is one of the best activities for calming down and de-stressing. It’s an incredibly satisfying hobby that can help you relax and find a sense of peace. I love handmade items, especially when they are garments. Crocheting your own cardigan will be such a rewarding and unique experience.

WeCrochet

To design this cardigan, I used two different yarn lines from WeCrochet. I combined Brava Worsted with a strand of Aloft. With the addition of Aloft gave a soft and fuzzy texture to spice up the cardigan.

Yarn Inspiration

Brava Worsted is a great, affordable Premium Acrylic yarn. I have provided a list of substitutes for you if you want to use a different yarn. Lion Brand Colour Theory is a perfect match if you are looking for a modern colour palette. If you’re looking for wool options, Heatherly Worsted is a great, super soft, durable wool/acrylic blend. It has some great peach options that would look great with Aloft in a soft pink or sand. One of my favourite merino wools is Swish Worsted from WeCrochet; there are numerous colours to choose from that will pair well with Aloft.

Aloft is a great, super soft mohair, coming in a great selection of gorgeous colours. Unfortunately, the hand-painted line has been discontinued. If you wanted to use one strand instead or have allergies, Scarfie Lite from Lion Brand would have the same effect and would turn out beautiful!

Another option I suggest using if you want that soft variegated look is Chroma Twist Worsted. This variegated yarn, in a beautiful selection of colours, would pair lovely with a stand of Aloft.
