Yarn Inspiration

Comfy Worsted is a great affordable cotton/acrylic yarn. I have chosen this yarn to substitute the Sprightly that the original pattern was crocheted in. I prefer a cotton blend for a summer top, so I picked Comfy as a perfect choice. If you want to use 100% acrylic yarn, like the original pattern, I suggest Brava Worsted as a great substitute. Lion Brand Color Theory is a perfect match if you are looking for a premium acrylic yarn splurge with modern colours. I also recommend CotLin as a soft cotton yarn for a summer top. Heatherly Worsted is a great, super soft, durable wool acrylic blend in soft modern pastels.

Construction

The pullover is worked from the bottom up in a long rectangular piece with an opening for the neck. The band is worked in rows then the lace pattern is worked across the length of the band. A chain opening is created for the neck then the lace pattern is continued. A join-as-you-go band is worked to finish. The sides are seamed, leaving openings for the arms. The pattern is written for the smallest size, with larger sizes in parentheses ( ). If there is only 1 number, it applies to all sizes.
