Crocheting is a great way to express your creativity and make something unique and special. Crochet hats are fun to make and make great gifts. They are also versatile and can be made in a variety of colours, styles, and sizes. They are obviously great for keeping your head warm in the colder months. Plus, the satisfaction of creating something with your own two hands is really rewarding! So, why not give it a try?

Who doesn’t love waffle stitch? Waffle Stitch is such a fun, unique, mindless crochet stitch. If you don’t know how to crochet Waffle Stitch, it is quite easy. The unique Waffle Stitch is crocheted using double crochet, Front Post and Back Post Double Crochet Stitches. Once you get the hang of crocheting those stitches, you will be on your way to crocheting Waffle Stitch to make this gorgeous hat. Once you start crocheting Waffle Stitch, you’ll be hooked!
Style these crochet hats using matching coloured pompoms for a modern look. These gorgeous crochet hats are sure to look great with any outfit!
Mary Maxim Mellowspun
Mary Maxim Mellowspun DK (CDN) is an affordable and soft 100% acrylic yarn. I choose a soft and dreamy palette for this crochet hat. Grey, black, white and taupes are great choices as they’ll go with anything. I added the soft modern pink for the newborn size. Mellowspun has numerous colours to choose from, so you can customize it to your liking.

Mellowspun DK from Mary Maxim (CDN)
#3 Light Weight Yarn, 100% Acrylic, (284 Yards/ 100 Grams)
75 (110, 175, 245, 275)yards
Shown in White, Buff, Black, Dove & Soft Pink
Yarn Substitutes:
Mary Maxim has a few more yarn options that will work perfectly with this pattern. Premier Anti Pilling (CDN) and Bernat Softee Baby (CDN) are very similar yarns. Prism (CDN) is a great option for a pop of colour. Another affordable premium acrylic yarn is Brava Sport from WeCrochet, or if you love merino, splurge on Swish DK.

If you don’t mind playing around with sizing, you can try a worsted-weight yarn. The hats will come out bigger, but it’s worth experimenting with! I used Red Heart Brushed for a soft, fuzzy warm hat.

First, double-check your login details. Make sure you’re signing in with the same email you originally used to create your Grow account. If you’re not sure, click “Forgot Password” to reset your login. Once you’ve updated it, return to my site and try again.
Next, clear your browser’s cache and cookies. Sometimes the login just gets stuck. You can also try opening the page in a private or incognito window, or switching to another browser like Chrome, Safari, or Firefox to see if that does the trick.
It also helps to make sure you’re logged into Grow directly. Visit https://grow.me and sign in there first. Once you’re logged in, come back to my site and refresh the page — your pattern should unlock automatically.
If you’re still having trouble, check your browser’s privacy settings. Grow needs cookies to verify your account, so make sure cookies and cross-site tracking are allowed. On iPhone, go to Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security, then turn off “Prevent Cross-Site Tracking” and “Block All Cookies.” On Android or Chrome, go to Settings → Site Settings → Cookies and select “Allow all cookies.”
Lastly, ad blockers or browser extensions can sometimes block the login pop-up. Try turning them off temporarily while you sign in. If nothing seems to work, log out of Grow completely by going to https://grow.me, selecting your profile icon, and choosing Log Out. Then come back to my site and try logging in again.
If you’re still stuck after trying all of this, please reach out through my Contact Page and let me know what device and browser you’re using (and include a screenshot if you can).
