Colour is making a big comeback this season, and I love how bright and festive these trees look paired with my colourful Christmas décor! The Merry & Bright Holiday Trees Crochet Pattern is all about bringing joy, texture, and handmade charm to your home. Project Tip

Change #3 weight yarn to #6 weight yarn from 1 skein – As shown in the diagram, position the yarn in a large S-shape. Bring the strands together and pull the working yarn through the loop created. Continue to pull the working yarn through the loop as you progress. For a visual guide, refer to the video tutorial.

Notes: The tree is worked from the top down in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker to indicate the first stitch of each round. All sizes begin the same; simply continue adding more rounds for larger trees. Hold three strands of yarn together throughout to create a super bulky weight. The PDF pattern includes a chart to keep track of your rows.

Finishing

Place the crocheted tree over small to extra-large paper maché cones, stretching gently to fit. If the tree doesn’t fit snugly, adjust your hook size for a better fit. You can also increase or decrease the number of rounds worked to perfectly match the size of your cone.

Embellish your tree with a star, securing it to the top with a small amount of hot glue. For a festive illuminated display, wrap the tree in lights — green wired lights work best for a natural look. Begin wrapping at the top and work your way down. If you’d like the lights to be permanent, apply a small dab of hot glue at the end of the wrap to hold them in place. Tuck the battery pack neatly under the cone to complete your display.

Make multiple trees in different colours and sizes. These quick and easy projects are perfect for decorating your home, giving as gifts, or selling at markets.
