Free Crochet Beanie Pattern Inspiration

I love making new hats! It feels like every season calls for a fresh one! As some of you may know, I’ve been transforming our old dairy barn into a studio and office space for my business. Fasten off with a tail for weaving.

Finishing

Using a yarn needle, thread the tail through the flo of each stitch around the top of the hat. Gently pull the yarn to tighten and close the opening. Weave the yarn around the stitches to secure the end, then back in the opposite direction. This will ensure a snug finish and prevent any unravelling.

Pom Pom

Make a yarn pom pom or attach a faux fur pom pom. Sew snap to the top of the hat. Blow-dry pom to fluff and snap to the top of the hat. Use a 5-6″ pompom for child and adult hats and a 4.3″ pom pom for baby hats. Hats are shown with a 0.5″ x 3.25″ & 1.5″ square personalized faux leather tag. Attach with leather rivets or embroidery thread.

Washing Instructions

Before washing, remove the pompom. Refer to the yarn label for washing instructions. It’s recommended to gently hand wash the hat using a mild detergent or wool wash. Afterwards, carefully lay it flat to dry.
