Construction
The mittens and fingerless gloves are worked from the bottom up. Begin by crocheting the ribbed cuff in rows, then join and continue working the Suzette stitch in the round. Create the thumb opening by skipping stitches, then complete the mitten by closing the top. For the fingerless gloves, stop working rounds once you reach the knuckles. Rejoin yarn at the thumb opening and work additional rounds to form the thumb, closing it for the mitten version or stopping at the desired length for the fingerless gloves. Weave in all ends to finish.

The Suzette Stitch creates a beautifully textured fabric by working a single crochet and a double crochet into the same stitch, skipping the next stitch, and repeating this sequence across the row.
The Chunky Suzette Fingerless Gloves & Mittens
Crochet Pattern:
6-12mth (Toddler, Sm Child, Lrg Child, Adult)
Each size is written out separately. The mittens and gloves are worked from the bottom up, with each round turned to create the textured Suzette pattern. Turning the rounds also helps keep the join line neat and straight. Hold two strands of yarn together to create a bulky weight fabric.
