This long, oversized crochet cardigan feels like a warm hug on a chilly day! The Mauve-A-Lous Duster Cardigan pattern is written in standard American terms and includes sizes S–5X. A detailed schematic is provided, along with measuring instructions for sleeve length, allowing you to customize your cardigan to fit just right. The duster length is approximately 36–38″, with guidance on how to adjust the length to your preference.
The Mauve-A-Lous Duster cardigan crochet sweater pattern calls for a US G/6 (4mm) and US 7 (4.5mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
In the video tutorial, I used the Radiant Crochet Hook Set from WeCrochet. You can purchase them HERE
The textured crochet stitch is an easy 2-row repeat worked in basic crochet stitches that works up quickly! It’s a simple pattern to crochet in only one piece. I enjoy working my garments in this manner so that the seaming is limited to the sides and sleeves.
The Yarn
I crochet the Mauve-A-Lous Duster Cardigan in Mary Maxim Mellowspun DK(CDN) 70% Acrylic, 30% Nylon (174 yds/160m/50g/1.75oz) Shown in Dark Mauve. You can no longer get this colour, but they have other beautiful options available. Mellowspun is on the light side of a DK and is very similar to some Sport weight yarns. Many DK-weight yarns you will find to be a little thicker. Compare the yards per gram to find a suitable alternative.
If you love this mauve, I suggest this Alternative from Mary maxim
The Mauve-A-Lous Duster Cardigan Crochet pattern is worked in one piece from the side across. All double crochet rows are worked on the RS and all single crochet/half double crochet rep rows are worked on the WS.
The pattern is written for the smallest size with larger sizes in parentheses ( ). If there is only 1 number, it applies to all sizes. Step by step video tutorial is provided on our YouTube channel for size medium. https://youtu.be/5eEQSuXibog
