Having trouble unlocking the pattern?

If you’re seeing the message “Email subscription failed, please try again”, don’t worry — it’s usually an easy fix! Here are a few quick things to try:
First, double-check your login details. Make sure you’re signing in with the same email you originally used to create your Grow account. If you’re not sure, click “Forgot Password” to reset your login. Once you’ve updated it, return to my site and try again.
Next, clear your browser’s cache and cookies. Sometimes the login just gets stuck. You can also try opening the page in a private or incognito window, or switching to another browser like Chrome, Safari, or Firefox to see if that does the trick.
It also helps to make sure you’re logged into Grow directly. Visit https://grow.me and sign in there first. Once you’re logged in, come back to my site and refresh the page — your pattern should unlock automatically.
If you’re still having trouble, check your browser’s privacy settings. Grow needs cookies to verify your account, so make sure cookies and cross-site tracking are allowed. On iPhone, go to Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security, then turn off “Prevent Cross-Site Tracking” and “Block All Cookies.” On Android or Chrome, go to Settings → Site Settings → Cookies and select “Allow all cookies.”
Lastly, ad blockers or browser extensions can sometimes block the login pop-up. Try turning them off temporarily while you sign in. If nothing seems to work, log out of Grow completely by going to https://grow.me, selecting your profile icon, and choosing Log Out. Then come back to my site and try logging in again.

The pattern is designed for a solid-coloured tree skirt. To complement our Holiday Home Collection, I’ve included a colour chart for a striped alternative. Note that the V-st is worked as (sc, ch 2, sc) in the same stitch.

Instructions: Refer to the chart for the colour pattern. See row by row stitch chart pg. 8.

Foundation Row (RS):

With smaller hook and MC, ch 36, 1 sc in the back hump (leg) of 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across, turn—35 sts.

Row 1 (WS):

With larger hook, ch 1 (not included as a st here and throughout), *1 sc in first st, (ch 1, sk st, sc in next st) 2 times, v-st in next st; rep from * 4 more times, 1 sc in next st, (ch 1, sk st, sc in next st) 2 times, turn—40 sts, 5 ch-2 sps. (ch-1 sp included as a st).

Row 2:

Ch 1, 1 sc in first st, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk st) 2 times, sc in next st, v-st in v-st, *sc in next st, ch 1, sk st, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk sc) 2 times, sc in next st, v-st in v-st; rep from * 3 more times, 1 sc in next st, (ch 1, sk st, sc in ch-1 sp) 2 times, sc in last st, turn—50 sts, 5 ch-2 sps.

Row 3:

Ch 1, 1 sc in first st, ch 1, sk st, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk st) 2 times, sc in last st, v-st in v-st, *sc in next st, ch 1, sk st, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk sc) 3 times, sc in next st, v-st in v-st; rep from * 3 more times, 1 sc in next st, ch 1, sk st, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk st) 2 times, sc in last st, turn—60 sts, 5 ch-2 sps.

Row 4:

Ch 1, 1 sc in first st, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk st) to one st before next ch-2 sp, sc in next st, v-st in v-st, *sc in next st, ch 1, sk st, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk sc) to one st before next ch-2 sp, sc in next st, v-st in v-st; rep from * across, 1 sc in next st, (ch 1, sk st, sc in next ch-1 sp) to last st, sc in last st, turn— increase by 10 sts each row—70 sts, 5 ch-2 sps.

Row 5:

Ch 1, 1 sc in first st, ch 1, sk st, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk st) to one st before next ch-2 sp, sc in next st, v-st in v-st, *sc in next st, ch 1, sk st, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk sc) to one st before next ch-2 sp, sc in next st, v-st in v-st; rep from * across, 1 sc in next st, ch 1, sk st, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk st) to last st, sc in last st, turn—increase by 10 sts each row—80 sts, 5 ch-2 sps.

Rows 6-43:

Rep rows 4 & 5, working as many rows as desired. Ending with 460 sts, 5 ch-2 sps.

Row 44:

With smaller hook, ch 1, sc in each sc and ch-1 sp across and work a v-st in v-st across—470 sts, 5 ch-2 sps. Don’t fasten off.

Edging

Along the side of the rows place markers for ribbon holes. Sk row 44 place a marker at the start and end of row 43, sk 20 rows, pm at each end of next row, sk 20 rows pm at each end of next row.

Row 1:

With smaller hook, ch 1, working along the row edge, make 1 sc in the side of the first row, ch 3, sk the next marked row, work 1 sc in each row and foundation chain, when you reach a place marker, ch 3 and sk that row. Sl st in first sc of row 44 to join. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Ribbon

Cut three lengths of 1-inch ribbon, each measuring 28 inches. Weave the ribbons through the designated holes. Once the tree skirt is positioned around the base of the tree, tie the ribbons in a bow to secure it.

The cream-colored textured fabric, adorned with three dark brown bows in a vertical line, evokes a festive feel reminiscent of a holiday weave. Perfect for adding charm to seasonal decor or even as inspiration for a crochet tree skirt.

PomPoms – Make 5

Make a yarn pompom using a jumbo pompom maker in a 4.5″ size. Use a long tail when tying the pompom. With a yarn needle Use the yarn tails to knot the pompoms to the ch-2 sp corners. Trim tails.
