Construction

The Autumn’s Charm Mosaic Cardigan crochet pattern features a top-down construction, allowing you to work seamlessly in rows until you achieve your desired yoke size. Once you’ve reached this stage, you’ll separate the sleeves from the body, continuing to work the body in rows until you reach your preferred hip or duster length. Next, you’ll incorporate the beautiful mosaic pattern, finishing off with a cozy ribbed band and collar.

After completing the body, you’ll join back onto the sleeve openings and crochet the sleeves in the round, following the specified decrease pattern. Each sleeve is finished with the stunning mosaic detail and a ribbed cuff.

Notes

Notes:

The cardigan is worked from the top down in Rows. All sizes begin the same. Continue working the yoke until the desired size is reached. The pattern is written for the smallest size, with the larger sizes in parentheses ( ). If there is only 1 number, it applies to all sizes—a step-by-step video tutorial is provided on YouTube for the medium size.

To change colours, work the last yarn over of the last stitch with the next colour or after the st is complete. Carry the yarn up the right side of the work by crocheting over the colour being carried in the last and first stitch. Be sure to drop off the previous colour and pick up the next colour for the next colour change. When working chain stitches, it’s important to crochet them loosely.

Setup Row (RS):

With RS facing and smaller hook, put a slip knot on the hook, and join yarn to the bottom corner of the right front panel. Evenly sp sc sts around the front right, neck and left side working 1 sc per mosaic row and 3 sc per 2 hdc rows or 1 sc per st. Fasten off and join back to front right. Join-As-You-Go Ribbing

Put a slip knot on the hook and join to front right edge with a sl st. Repeat Band Rows 1-3 by working a ch of 11 for a total of 10 sts, repeating Rows 2-3 around the collar. Fasten off and weave in ends. For buttonholes see the following directions.

the garment out on blocking mats and pin it to the measurements. Allow to dry thoroughly.

Washing Instructions

Handwashing is highly recommended to clean your cardigan. Fill a basin or sink with lukewarm water and add a mild detergent suitable for delicate fabrics. Gently immerse the garment and agitate it softly to cleanse. Avoid excessive squeezing or wringing to prevent stretching or misshaping. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Drying

After washing, gently remove excess water without wringing the garment. Lay it flat on a clean, absorbent towel, arranging it into shape. Roll up the towel and gently press to remove more moisture. Then, let the garment air dry, avoiding direct sunlight or heat sources that could cause fading or shrinking.
