Free Pattern to crochet a king Size Farmhouse Blanket! As many of you know, my house is full of cozy crochet blankets! We have many favorites, but nothing beats the soft coziness of my Chevron Tassel throw made in Bernat Blanket Yarn! My brother has been asking for one, and I thought Christmas would be the time to make him something extra big to wrap himself up in. As much as I love that blanket, I wanted to make something new and much bigger. I seem to have an obscene collection of this yarn, so I began combining soft neutrals with a teal pop.
The Yarn
I chose a simple textured stitch with an interesting stripe pattern for the king size farmhouse blanket. I picked out 4 colours and used a total of 8-300g balls. Play around with your own favourite colours to match the room. The selection of Blanket yarn continues to grow, so there are many great choices.

The background
For those of you new to my page, my husband and I are Farmers. The original Farm House on our property burnt down, and the home we live in today was built in 1950. Although it’s not the original farmhouse, it still has many unique farmhouse characteristics with its large pine trim and deep-set windows. We’ve slowly been renovating our home to capture a modern farmhouse look. After making the king-size farmhouse blanket, I wanted to keep it for our newly renovated Master Bedroom. But I know that my sister-in-law will enjoy it and I can’t keep everything!
I’m very sentimental, and handmade items hold deep meaning for me. My Grandfather made my headboard and nightstands. He also wants to make our dressers. Store-bought things just don’t hold the meaning, character, or quality that you’ll find in handmade. They really are irreplaceable. My room really has become a calming sanctuary this last month. Something I’ve really needed. The merino throw I will be keeping for my bed you can find HERE
This season I’ve spent a significant amount of time reflecting, prioritizing, and planning for the coming year. I hope that you’ve all had a meaningful Christmas and that we can all start the new year with renewed hope and excitement for the year ahead.
