Body: 9 sts and 5 rows = 2″ in hdc
Band: 10 sts and 10 rows = 2″ in sc blo

CONSTRUCTION
The Mini Santa Hat ornament is worked from the bottom-up. Begin working the band in rows from the side across. Join the band and work the hat pattern in rounds around the band. Gather the hat and make a mini pompom with a pompom maker.
SIZING CHART
PATTERN:
Hat:
Band
Row 1 (WS): With A, ch 7, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across, turn—6 sts.
Row 2 (RS): Ch 1, sc in the blo of each st across, turn—6 sts.
Rows 3-18: Rep row 2. Last row ch 1. Fold the band in half with the RS facing, sl st the band together by working through the blo of the last row and starting ch of the first row.
Body
Round 1: Ch 1, 1 sc st per row around the band, sl st in the first sc to join—18 sts. Change to B at the join. Cut A.
Round 2: With B, ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around, sl st in the first hdc to join—18 sts.
Rounds 3-4: Rep round 2.
Round 5: Ch 2, sk the first st, hdc in each st around, sl st in the first hdc to join—17 sts.
Round 6-12: Rep round 5 ending with 10 sts.
Last round fasten off, with yarn needle weave through the flo of each st around, pull hat tight and weave in ends.
Pompom:
Make a mini yarn pompom and attach it to the top of the hat. Watch tutorial HERE.
Hanger
Use a metal ornament hook to hang or use it as a present topper.
