Adding a few pillows to an entrance bench adds a cozy feel and makes a nice backrest when putting on your shoes. Make several up in neutral colours or add pops of colour to your decor.

I love adding throw pillows throughout the house. But I especially love crocheted pillow covers. Homemade pieces add extra warmth and love to the home. You’ll find my designs throughout my house. Shown in the picture above, my Super Bulky Herringbone Throw, my Textured Floor Pouf and my Succulent Pumpkin Cozy.

Instructions:

Notes: Pillow is worked by making 2 square panels.  Three sides are seamed then pillow form is inserted inside.  Final side is seamed and edging is finished in reverse single crochet.

Panel:

Make 2

Row 1 (RS): Ch 51, work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn—50 sts.

Note: Keep the sc sts loose so they are easier to work into.

Row 2: Ch 1 (not included as a stitch here and throughout), work 1 csc in each st across to last st, add 1 sc in last st, turn—50 sts.

Row 3-65: Rep Row 2 until piece measures 15.5″ in length—50 sts. After last Row ch 1, evenly work 34 sc sts across the side of panel, work 50 sc sts across bottom of panel, work 34 sts up the side of panel, work 50 sts across top of panel, sl st in first sc to join.  Fasten off and weave in ends.
