Children love hooded owl blankets because they provide a sense of comfort and security. The whimsical design of the owl, with its big eyes and cute beak, appeals to their imagination and sense of playfulness. Additionally, the hood provides a cozy and warm space for them to snuggle into, creating a comforting and relaxing environment. Overall, hooded owl blankets are a fun and functional accessory that children can enjoy both during playtime and when it’s time to rest.

Yarn Inspiration
Bernat Softee Chunky is a great affordable acrylic yarn. It is a light Super Bulky weight #6 yarn. You may find that some heavy, bulky weight #5 yarns will be a closer match.
Charisma found at Michaels by Loops and threads is a good option, Lion brand Hue & Me, as well as Titan Bulky from Mary Maxim.
Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick is an excellent acrylic/wool blend that will work well with this pattern; it is thicker, so you may need to use a larger hook, and the blanket will come out a little larger.
You can also use two strands of your favourite worsted-weight yarn to equal the equivalent bulkiness. This is a good option if you struggle to find a good substitute.
