I love crochet home decor. Because It adds an extra cozy feeling to my space. Making crochet pot covers for all my plants was on my to-do list. This season I’ve fallen in love with the crochet bobble stitch. It’s a nice and sturdy stitch perfect for crocheting baskets.

After making several Bobble Trees, I was inspired to make a crochet plant basket pattern for my mini Christmas tree and 6″ poinsettias.

I love decorating my home with poinsettias for the Holiday Season and ended up purchasing an 8″ and 10″ poinsettia as well.

Inevitably I had to make 2 larger bobble stitch crochet plant baskets to accommodate them. I added handles to the baskets to make lifting easier.

These bobble stitch crochet plant baskets make the perfect housewarming or Holiday Gift. They are perfect to use as a basket, or you can cover any of your plant pots. I designed the crochet baskets to fit over a 4, 6, 8 and 10″ pot.

Yarn Requirements

Mary Maxim Starlette Chunky Shown in Cottonwood, Latte and Teal – 100% Acrylic  (100g/60yds) Yards 45 (75, 125, 210)

I picked out a durable, super bulky yarn for this crochet pattern so that the crochet baskets would be strong and stand up over time. Mary Maxim Starlette Chunky is an excellent choice with some gorgeous neutrals.

I choose to use Cottonwood, Latte and Teal for my baskets. I love the look of combining 2 colours to make the top edge and handles pop.
